By the end of October, the Commission for the Rights of People with a Disabilty in Birkirkara will be operating from a new building. This will replace the old, antique building in Santa Venera. The President of the Commission, Oliver Scicluna, said that the new building is very accessible and has been leased for ten years for €78,000 per annum. Parliamentary Secretary Anthony Agius Decelis said that the new building will give people with a disability the dignity and convenience they deserve.
In Malta there are more than 18,000 people registered as having a disability.
