Two men wounded in East Oakland shootings

OAKLAND — Two men were shot in separate incidents in East Oakland Friday, authorities said.


Both men were shot in the leg and were in stable condition. Police don’t believe the shootings are related.


A 32-year-old man was shot about 8:40 p.m. Friday in the 4400 block of
Foothill Boulevard. A friend gave him a ride to a hospital. Police said the man was uncooperative and did not provide any details
about a motive or about a suspect.


About 12:10 a.m. Friday, a 28-year-old man was shot outside his home in the 5800 block of Elizabeth Street in the Melrose district. The man told police he was standing outside his home when someone began shooting at him from the street. He was able to run away from the gunman, who fled before police arrived. The wounded  man was taken by ambulance to a hospital.


Police have not released a motive or made any arrests in the case.
